I'm half way through my first year of teaching! Today was the end of our first semester, and the highlight of the day was watching my drama kids in their improv games, thinking about how far they have come since the beginning of the year. Now, nearly all of them are ready to think quickly and be creative, and they're able to enjoy their time in front of the group, rather than dread it. To cap it off, at the end of class, they initiated a big group hug. Nothing beats watching middle schoolers who wouldn't normally be friends coming together and appreciating each other.
